Mission Bottling – Power Connection Specs
If the winery desires to provide their own power for bottling rather than electing to use Mission Bottling’s generator, the winery will need to provide a suitable receptacle within 100 circuit feet of the bottling trailer location for Mission Bottling’s connection. Mission Bottling recommends wineries utilize a pin and sleeve type receptacle for use as the power connection between winery supplied power and Mission Bottling’s bottling trailer. Mission Bottling carries several plugs which will fit these type receptacles.
Pin & sleeve wiring devices, also known as IEC 309 connectors, are manufactured by Hubbell, Kellums, Meenekes, and several other manufacturers.
The Hubbell version of this class of connectors is depicted below:
Mission Bottling requires the winery provide a 3 phase, 4 wire receptacle with the specific model depending upon the wineries voltage supply.
For 208 or 240 volt 3 phase service
– the wineries minimum circuit amperage must be 60 amps. The receptacle will be “blue” in color and may be either a 60 amp device (designated as a 460R9W receptacle) or a 100 amp device (designated as a 4100R9W receptacle).
For 460 or 480 volt 3 phase service
– the wineries minimum circuit amperage must be 30 amps. The receptacle will be “red” in color and may be either a 30 amp device (designated as a 430R7W receptacle), a 60 amp device (designated as a 460R7W receptacle), or a 100 amp device (designated as a 4100R7W receptacle).
Please contact Mission Bottling if you have an existing receptacle which does not meet the above specifications. We do have a few other plugs which may adapt to your present configuration.
